Peter Gammons calls the New Yankees Stadium the biggest joke in baseball. I mean come on, everyone who wants to see a game at the new stadium can get reasonably priced tickets, there are bargains galore tobe had as long as you are willing to go mid-week and see the Yankees play a team other than the Mets, Red Sox or Phillies. If the Yankees continue theor massive current win streak, the ticket prices will go up.

The New York Yankees are stating publicly that they are not worried about the number of empty premium seats at the New Yankees Stadium in the Bronx, New York.
Since the stadium opened fans have noticed a large number of empty seats along the first and third base lines and in the luxury box suites.
The Yankees took information about the selling price on the secondary market over the past few years to price these seats to upwards of $350 each. The Yankees publicly state they are not worried about the empty seats because it is still early in the season and are anticipating what the sales for those seats will be during highly sought series versus the Red Sox and NY Mets.
Yankees fans are also still upset with the way the Yankees organization downgraded the seats of fans with partial ticket plans.
The Yankees announced last week that they will raise ticket prices in 2010.

UPDATE: The Yankees have decided that in the grand tradition of the Yankees and Yankees Stadium, a baseball game was the appropriate way to close out the old Yankees Stadium and there will be no final concert at Yankee Stadium.
